hi, I'm Krystal Marie

A Christian homeschool mama of two, teaching in the classroom we built at home.

Where Home Meets School

I'm Krystal Marie, founder of Mamas In Session and full-time homeschool mama to two boys, 3 and 5. We live for pinecones, painted stones, tissue-paper tulips and the kind of mornings where school is just life, done on purpose.

I built this place to be a guiding light — the one spot a mom can turn to for homeschool advice that is honest, hands-on and rooted in faith and family.

our story

I did not set out to be a teacher. I set out to be their mama. But the world our boys are growing up in is not the one I grew up in — it changes faster than any of us can keep up with, and I watched too many school systems fail the very kids they were built to serve.

So I chose a different path. We started with one nature walk, one read-aloud and one craft a day. That was the whole curriculum. What I discovered is that the person best positioned to notice how my child learns — on the floor, with a pinecone in his hand and a question on his lips — was me.

Mamas In Session grew out of the messages I got from other moms: how do you do it? where do I even start? am I qualified? This site is my answer. Every worksheet was made at our table first, with paint on the walls and a toddler on my hip. Every resource is one I actually use. And every word is written for the mama who is up at 11pm wondering if she can do this.

You can. Home is where school meets a mama who will not give up on her child — and a God who will not give up on either of you.

what does homeschool look like?

An endless journey of love, adventure and learning.

A minute inside a homeschool morning.
what we believe

Kind hearts. Bright minds. Brighter tomorrows.

Christ at the center
Every lesson opens or closes with Scripture. Faith is not a subject we teach on Fridays; it is the thread running through all of it.
Hands before worksheets
Little ones learn by touching. Stones, leaves, beans and paint come first; the page makes it stick.
Short, calm, consistent
Three good hours beat six rushed ones. A rhythm, not a schedule — candle, book, table, craft, outside.
No mama alone
Membership is free, forever, and so is the forum. Encouragement should never be behind a paywall.
Outside every day
Mud, sticks, puddles and pinecones are the science lab. If the weather allows, the second half of school happens in the yard.
Let them be little
A five-year-old who reads late but knows every bird in the yard is not behind. We protect childhood while we teach it.
