Columbus Day Twig Boats | Nature Craft & Printable Activity

This hands on Columbus Day craft combines nature, creativity, and learning in one simple activity. Children can head outside to collect small twigs, then use the boat template to glue the twigs in place and build the shapes of the Niña, Pinta, and Santa María. The set includes a boat template, a completed example page, and a cut-out page with sails and flags. Children can use the included sails or trace and cut their own from parchment paper for a more realistic look, then color the ocean and sun to complete the scene. It’s a fun way to practice fine motor skills, cutting, gluing, nature exploration, and hands-on history while learning about Columbus and his three ships.
